A Requiem: Infinite Dream/Che (2007)

Yasumasa Morimura is a Japanese contemporary artist who inserts his face and body into portraits of historical artists and celebrities. His style is quite similar to Cindy Sherman, who we have seen her pieces at the Museum of Fine Arts with the class which both uses quite a tremendous amount of props, makeup and photoshop to recreate of iconographic characters. He also has done some such as Marilyn Monroe, the Mona Lisa, and many other female personalities, but the ones that really got my attention were the A Requiem Series which portraits influential politicians who had a huge impact into the world, such as Fidel Castro and Adolf Hitler. Such portraits can evoke a bitter feel on historical moments, but he does a good job making us remember.
